Mrs. Sokolowski's 2nd Grade
About Me
My name is Nancy Sokolowski, and I am your child’s second grade teacher. I have dreamed of being a teacher since I was a little girl playing on my chalkboard in my parents' garage. My absolute favorite teacher as a child was my second grade teacher, so I believe that this is the grade I was destined to teach. I live in Chicago with my husband and daughter. I love spending time with my family when I am not busy in the classroom. Some of my interests include: cooking, swimming, crafting, the Bears, the Blackhawks, Disney, and anything PINK!
This is my 12th year teaching second grade at Lincoln School, and it is my absolute favorite grade! I love teaching second grade because the students are enthusiastic about learning and are becoming independent. I received my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Saint Xavier University. I also received my graduate degree as a reading specialist from Saint Xavier University. Since I love learning, I even continued my education with a masters +30 with the University of Colorado Pueblo.
I look forward to a great school year with your child. My goal as an educator is to provide a nurturing environment that will foster your child’s academic and social growth. I believe students learn best when they are encouraged and given opportunities to use their own special gifts and talents. It is my priority to create an engaging classroom with a great feeling of community.
